Gents seiko presage automatic zen gardens SRPC83

For you consideration is this lovely looking seiko presage with a zen Japanese garden dial. Well what on earth does that mean? Let me explain as seiko explained. “The Japanese garden is a well-known and much admired aspect of Japanese culture and provides the inspiration for this new presage collection. The dial has the depth and rich texture of a Karesanui zen garden in which gravel is raked into serene, following patterns like waves or rippling water. The deeply pressed pattern on the dial creates dramatic shadows as do the furrows of gravel in the Karesansui garden. Equally, the dial uses the same minimalistic design aesthetic as the garden, allowing the eye to enjoy both the free, uncluttered space and the powerful statement made by the hour markers under the curved sapphire glass” end quote

anyway this piece has a 23 jewel automatic movement Caliber 4R35B and I feature one of these on the channel (motorbike fish episode)

The movement can be viewed through the exhibition case back.

The dial, as we have already discussed, is a white colour with a zigzag “zen” pattern with raised, black Roman numerals and a date window at 3

This piece would have originally had a black leather strap with alligator grain but I have replaced it with a flat, matte leather strap and have installed it on to the original seiko deployment clasp. If you prefer alligator grain then let me know and I’ll change the strap.

The watch is in excellent condition with very minimal blemishes
